ANIMAL ON PEACEMAKER!

Last Thursday, our track “Animal” blasted through Episode 3 of the new season of Peacemaker on HBO Max.

Season 2 of Peacemaker has already been met with rave reviews, praised for its mix of outrageous humor, hard-hitting action, and unexpected heart. The show is directed and written by James Gunn — now also co-CEO of DC Studios — and stars John Cena in his acclaimed role as the unlikely superhero Peacemaker.

For Shining, it’s been an incredible ride. Since the episode aired, more than 61,000 people have Shazamed “Animal” in a single week, and our streams on Apple Music and Spotify have jumped by more than 5,000%. Apple Music even notified us that we’re charting in the Top 200 in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, and several other countries.

This marks another milestone in our journey. Shining — founded in Norway in 1999, known for inventing the genre “Blackjazz” and for winning the Alarm Prize twice — has always thrived on pushing boundaries and mixing contrasts. Having our music explode into the global spotlight through Peacemaker is both surreal and deeply rewarding.

And the story doesn’t end here. We’re thrilled to announce that another brand new Shining song will appear in Peacemaker on October 2nd.
